Bright, transparent and colorless liquid with excellent solvent and extraction properties, as well as antiseptic and disinfectant properties. It has a medium evaporation rate, works as a latent solvent in nitrocellulose systems. Its application is in printing inks, coatings, refrigerant, organic synthesis of the pharmacochemical area, electronic cleaner. It is a good solvent for acrylic and epoxy resins, polyvinyl butyral, shellac, and ethylcellulose.
